No but tf2 has those things
Just not for all classes to a great extent
Yeah so at that point it'd be a volime thing
Idk, I still think if a tf2 reskin featuting the justice league came out today it'd be called a hero shooter. Though that's if course a hypothetical scenario and we couldn't know until it'd happened. But I think I can see your point of view and somewhat respect your opinion
I dont think a product like TF2 as it is could come out mechanically the same. It would have to be more akin to Marvel Rivals/OW/Apex etc. I can understand labeling it hero shooter though, its just easier to assign it as such. Honestly labels like that/genres in general are pretty messy when not talking in broad strokes.

If I could just casually do math and fuck around forever, I'd do it. I think wanting to work is cringe
But if you want to retire and don't even know what the fuck you want to do, thats weird
It's complex, because I think people should want to set and pursue their own goals in life, which are very rarely ever going to be financially compensated like working a 9-5 is
I think you can live a satisfying life without having to work a 9-5 job
I think people who only have ever known working the majority of their lives do have trouble adapting to being free to pursue their own interests
I agree though, if you have zero aspiriation for things to do with free time, then you probably are the type who dies after retiring
I also think there are people who lack the ambition to do anything other than passively consume media slop
I actively consume my media slop
I just can't square the mindset of, your life needing structure set by a boss in order to be happy/fulfilled
I engage in intellectual discussions on my slop, making it active consumption! KappaRosss
Yeah, I don't understand people like that
I have weeks where I have nothing to do and I've never once felt bored
what do you mean "fill", idk why people should need to be babysat by an employer on the offchance they might get bored
I think if you have any level of active imagination, you are just defacto fine
I benifit from having deadlines in the way that I am good at knowing how long things take me to do so I make sure I start so I finish by the deadline, other than that, I don't really need them
Replying to Spooky Phijkchu #spooky.131 what do you mean "fill", idk why people should need to be babysat by an employer on the offchance they might get bored
Being bored and life being pointless aren't the same thing.
see, that I can agree with more
from the vantage of thinking people should be productive in life
I don't fully agree, but I can understand it
I think Spooky for sure and me to a lesser extent have a hard time agreeing because both of us for sure have the thought "I do not have enough time in the day to do all the things I want to do"
If I had more free time, I already know what thing I would fill it with, and I don't even work, its just PhD studies
I think there is a subset of humaity (probably 40-60%) who legitimately need to have thier lives structured for them or they cannot function
I also think there's peace to be found in accepting that your life is small, that you don't have to make contributions on which the world turns
A lot of people rush to whatever the biggest city they can, and work their way up come cooperate ladder trying to attain importance or influence
and define their life by whether they are able to have a lasting impact or reach some threshold by which they've "made it"
I think the problem with this discussion is I think for the most part most of the people in this server are not good examples of "the average person" in the sense that we are all fucking weird and strange in different ways
Easily
If you expanded time somehow to quadruple that, I could still fill that
I could perhaps fill infinite time, although that might be harder
yeah I agree
I don't feel stressed by the idea that a week could go by where I was "non-productive"
Nor do I think I'm the kind of person who lacks the ability to find or think of interesting things to do
like I said, most people need their lived to be externally structured to function
and historically, average people have been fine at that 2nd part, and worse at that 1st part
Unrelated, but why has Rob chat become debate/discussion chat
but the last 20-30 years, I think have bred people who have that flipped, and the 2nd part is far harder for them
tf2 is not a hero shooter btw
