This studio just single-handedly changed the dynamic of the entire video game industry forever. Compare this to the near ~20,000 employees at Ubisoft. THIS here is the real "return to form" for gaming. Congrats @expedition33 - You guys did it! #Expedition33

lmao
I wish them luck selling well, though I wouldn't bet on it
marketing that game is HARD
ok, I looked at their numbers
I take it back, they're actually doing amazing
I would not have bet on it doing this well, peaked at 120k on Steam today
I'm mostly just surprised given the lack of marketing for this game, that people went for it in such numbers
grats to them though
it's a really good game from what I've seen, I've not had time to play it yet though
I wonder who will buy this studio now Kappa
Replying to Raccoons #raccoons9986 I'm very minus on these slop ARPGs which have not very interesting combat as a result of an RPG progression system who's difficulty is tuned for an IGN reviewer @TinyBomby it's one of the all time PS1 classics, defo worth a play for JRPGheads (edited)
I don't play a lot of modern games, can you give me an example of the more recent ARPGs that have turned you off? I'm curious.
I played a bit of the first FFVII remake at my cousin's house and I was not having a whole lot of fun with it. It just seemed pretty mashy, and I don't like how it stops to let you figure out which special attack or item or whatever you want to do. I want either a JRPG where I'm thinking about my turn strategy, or a character action game where I'm actually doing the moves in real time and reacting to enemies. And besides, if you grind, you can just make the game immediately way too easy, since now your stats are better, and you can brute force your way through the encounter without actually having to learn the patterns, without engaging with the battle system. I didn't get better at the game, my characters dealing higher numbers decided the fight.
