I've been saying that the big JRPG devs (SQEnix) are missing out by making their biggest franchises weird hybrid action RPGs that don't do the action part particularly well. Traditional combat systems still clearly sell as evidenced by Atlus' output and now Clair Obscura

I mean, this isn't necessarily a traditional combat system. It has quick time events for attacks and dodging/parrying enemy attacks.
