I've been saying that the big JRPG devs (SQEnix) are missing out by making their biggest franchises weird hybrid action RPGs that don't do the action part particularly well. Traditional combat systems still clearly sell as evidenced by Atlus' output and now Clair Obscura

I'm very minus on these slop ARPGs which have not very interesting combat as a result of an RPG progression system who's difficulty is tuned for an IGN reviewer @TinyBomby it's one of the all time PS1 classics, defo worth a play for JRPGheads
