overall, decent game(aside from the settings issues) I like playing an early 2000s Bioware RPG again, imo probably the ideal game to release pre-Monster Hunter, because I can beat it in a week and move on

I think the two martial trees are lacking because they didn't have enough enviornmental modifiers in the world

No they're just not creative

no D:OS2 barrels everywhere, or bonus dmg when you charge an enemy off a cliff or into a wall

ranger/stealth is non-existant because they pivoted the game away from being a bethesda game

Richoceting bullets, bleeding attacks. piercing bullets where you line up enemies, arrows being silent compared to bullets, combingin magic with all three having unique combinations and mixed spells

there's a lot you can do they're just lazy/not creative

and all of that would of fit the systems they had

yep, they kept a very vanilla melee combat system

teathered arrow that pulls smaller enemies close to you so you can switch to your melee weapon that can attack them

and the trailers/gameplay was the extent of it basically

magic also doesn't really have a lot of that and it begs the question, is that a design simplification or an engine thing

there's very little to the environment or "combat sandbox"

knockback exists, status effects on enemies and stunning and freezing and ground effects exist

beyond very basic dmg sources

theyre just not really

used

knockback wouldn't really matter, given how enemy tethering works

the dots and status effects are pretty basic too

its very dissapoaintg because ive been waiting a very long time for someone to do a fantasy rpg/skyrim like rpg that feels kinnetic like a dark messiah game
