I think triple A games should just be 10-20 dollars cheaper
for most games
which is why when I see people make the "actually games should really be more expensive" argument I laugh
I think a lot of games would be considered less shit if they were cheaper
expectations are set by price
Replying to Phijkchu_Pikachu #klombak which is why when I see people make the "actually games should really be more expensive" argument I laugh (edited)
If games were 100% complete upon release and there was zero extra monetization, then I might give some credence to that idea.
I wouldn't
games should be 100% complete
full stop
because we have higher standards now
either make a game worth 60, or sell it for less
I think it is about expectations
Its hard to describe
I have bought mario 64 ever single time it has released, so I have spent like 300 dollars on that game
Elden Ring had the most retarded deluxe edition
It was $20 for the games's soundtrack
And some concept art
Replying to Spooky Phijkchu #spooky.131 I think it is about expectations
Are we talking about expectations from an optimistic perspective, or from a realistic perspective? Because if we look at trends, expectations should rarely be anywhere near as high as people hype games up to be, but not so low that a $60 game should be $20 cheaper.
Cyberpunk, despite it's flaws and terrible bugs
Was worth $60
Mario Tennis
Is not
The scope and complexity of the game systems, on top of the amount of content available
I've played 99 cent puzzle games
For hundreds of hours
They're not worth $60
Precisely
It's literally worth more
I don't want to compare it to disimilar things
I think games are fairly unique with how to price them
Board games, music, movies, w/e
games can be priced any way
fuck having a standard
price whatever you think the game is worth
They should be, games shouldn't have one set price they must cost
then no one buys the extremem complicated game
the only reason people put up with 60 dollar games is every game is 60
if games ranged from 20-80
Replying to Phijkchu_Pikachu #klombak then no one buys the extremem complicated game
You can say that, but we're forgetting that most companies are producing games these days that cater to whales.
no one would buy mario tennis for 60
thats not even true
thats true for a handful of games
lol, Umbreon
True
only games with lootbox gacha mechanics
which is a minority of games
It's about to be a lot more Pika
