I think my answer would probably be 1 or 3 as my preference
Do you like when it's flag based, where the sum of your actions cause an outcome, or when you get to overtly choose one or the other

Rather, I think games like you're describing also fit there
I tend to prefer either straight up linear games
or games where the branching is right at the end
