you should get train chat to play
I'm sure you could rope Dialga + Porygon into it
Its a really good game
who won the most points
Polu is the only one who got points, since he was host
I played every session and saw maybe 25% of the game this is for sure a "replay eventually" game
I'm really surprised they didn't add a way to throw/push people
even if it was an item and not just model physics
I'm not interested in playing with <4 players, but I am curious how some of the puzzles get scaled down for the 2 or 3-player versions
lol true
some of the ones we did in 4+ mode, were just barely doable with 2, and were hard with 3
so I'm hoping they don't make everything easier, and only scale the ones that explicitly need 4 by compacting the rooms or w/e
that's what they do though
afaik there are 3 versions of every puzzle
the 2-player, 3-player, and 4+ player varients
I'm just wondering if some of the ones are the same for all 3
because I think it would be lame if the 2-player version of, say the timer launch puzzle
launched it 2ft instead of 20ft
I thinks its only some puzzles that change
we for sure found 2 and 3 player puzzles
I liked splitting up, which is why I think 7-8 players was the perfect group size, but outside of the final area, having that many people in a single puzzle usually felt a little chaotic
most puzzles capped out at 3-4 people being useful, with a 5th being "fine"
but if you had 7-8 players on the map, you could split up sorta naturally
and there was a reason to use the communication items
versus if you all just stick together the entire time
I think the bean-testicle progress thing was a fun tangible way to do things, and I'm ok with everyone not having the same experience and being able to go back and play again and see puzzles they didn't do before
there's probably a different version of this game that had a pool of 100+ puzzles, that get randomized when the island is created
or a version that ties puzzle completion to the player, and lets you "check-in" to a puzzle with different groups who hadn't done it before
to add more on-paper replayability
but I liked the way they did it, it's lightly replayable with different groups, but there is definitely a cap on any sort of puzzle game, because figuring the puzzles out completely blind is part of the experience
even if you can experience a different part/job of the puzzle on a 2nd attempt
Polu has it
individually I think we all did 25-33% of the island puzzles + the ending
If anyone aside from Polu hosts the game, it will be a new game
