Replying to Spooky Phijkchu #spooky.131 I'm not going to longpost yet, but I'm convinced about something in Crimson Desert Act 1 (2-3 hours): Very Korean opening that everyone agrees you kind of have to push past Act 2 (10-15 hours): World opens up, and the game is great, teases some of the midgame/endgame systems Act 3 (5-7 hours): Weird out-of-place RDR2/Genshin style character re-introduction and HEAVY-handed earlygame system tutorials
Cont.
Act 4 (2-3 hours): I'm not sure why this was its own act, re-introduces some stuff from Act 1 and was probably initially when the game was supposed to unlock fast travel, before they realized that doing that 20-30 hours in would be insane
Act 5 (10-15 hours): Narratively, this is "Act 2" since it kicks off the actual story, also the point in the game where you're expected to understand the meta/world mechanics
It is very humorous for this game to have 3 different "beginnings", and they just kept them all in after each redo
I mean, lowering the price for digital even slightly is good, because it should just be cheaper anyways
We apologize for any confusion that recent topics regarding Alex's story may have caused. ︀︀While we have not changed the characters’ backstories, after internal review by the development team, we plan to revise certain text passages that may have been misleading in the near future. ︀︀Additionally, we have published a supplementary episode on “Buckler’s Boot Camp” to provide further insight into the characters’ emotions and backstories. ︀︀www.streetfighter.com/6/column/detail/shortstory💬 129 🔁 390 ❤️ 1.7K 👁️ 150.5K

HUNGER
War has ravaged Europe - but something far worse now grips the continent. A Bacterium of unknown origin has twisted the land, leaving behind only ruin, fear, and something far more sinister. In this PvPvE first person extraction RPG, players will scavenge a decaying world, face unspeakable horrors, and outlast rival survivors in desperate, high…
store.steampowered.comThis game has a terrible name and is being marketed poorly
but it's one of the more mechanically ambitious extraction games upcoming
they're doing a tech test thing soon, which hopefully we can get some keys for

I have read the Google paper now
this is actually really cool
links on the right if you just want the journals
this will sound like a meme, but this is just backporting quantum cryptography to data compression
which solving efficiently using traditional compute is genuinely impressive
also this will have limited impact on consumer AI (decode constrained by memory BW) and have zero effect on RAM prices (stocks are responding to Russia increasing the price of Helium-4)

the multivariable thing seems to screw over some countries
it's weird that in some countries it fucks them over
and others it helps
I understand Valve have to (at least pretend to care) about 3rd world scams and keysales
but honestly, just let devs charge nothing for most countries
S. America are the ones I know are the most fucked
because their "normal" prices are a joke
and everyone just buys from the black market
cad is still lower than for direct conversion, but not much lower
some of them just being higher is funny
Yeah taking the min of those two seems optimal imo
