really? I felt like the end-game bosses were mostly far more interesting and better spaced out compared to the earlier areas. There were times in the early game where I was confused why they kept throwing arenas at me instead of a boss. (edited)

Of course, any insults I have about Silksong bosses, it's better than just having a million "boss re-fight, but it's a bit stronger this time"

btw I missed multiple act 3 bosses because I was already tired of the game and couldn't be bothered, but there were probably more interesting ones out there too

imo for HK, none of the ghost fights were good, rematches are just rematches, and the only really good fights in HK are the hornet fights, dung defender, the Hollow knight, radiance, and the grimm fights

I honestly just don't remember HK, it's been a lot time since I played it and I've played a ton of metroidvanias since. I have no idea what I would think of it now.

i have a more recent experience with Hollow knight, and i did directly compare HK to Silksong fairly well i think, and i did mean it when i said i enjoyed silksong more than HK. Maybe i value exploration more than you guys, but i also did like more fights and the movement in general was more fun.

I mean, you definitely value exploration more than me. I don't really enjoy exploration very much at all, and generally don't enjoy metroidvanias that are extremely heavy on getting lost and checking every last corner.

also you get Dash, the parachute thing, and wall climb all in act 1, then in act 2 you get the Silk-spear grapple thow i dont remember the name of, and then double jump. If anything the movement upgrades are front-loaded

excluding deepnest, in HK I enjoyed how the areas of the map would connect together and you'd link back to areas you've found before and can actually explore, rather than wall humping as you clear out linear zones room-by-room

plenty of small side rooms and deadends in HK with nothing more than a relic for the relic guy or a geo vein or a charm, most of which you aren't really going to use

very few of them require you to annoyingly parkour into, and then reverse your steps to get out

you dont have to parkout out of the mountain, you just jump off it or go to the new stuff to the left you havent been to yet after reaching the top. you dont backtrack that at all the first time through
