the new Nightreign game mode dropped tonight

it's ok, they REALLY need to balance the progression though

they added a (needed) hard mode, that has a world difficulty multiplier for every run you do successfully

but it's tuned really shittily 5 wins to get a lvl2 world, ~20 wins for a lvl3 world

i can guess hunters memento is probably for completely filling out the hunters journal thing, but its weirdly not required for 100% completion

i thought that would be what stopped me from 100%, because i definitely didnt want to go hunting for that

there are a lot of psuedo immortal hazard enemies you need to dump items to kill

that's part of why I think it's going to remain fairly low

i only really encountered one enemy i could not kill and i really tried

wasnt a boss though so i'm not bent out of shape over it

anyway i want to reiterate that bilewater is the single worst zone and i hate it. and its probably designed to be hated.

I'm surprised that you enjoyed it more than HK. I haven't finished Silksong yet, and it's been many years since I touched HK, but I don't remember getting nearly as frustrated ay anything non-pantheon in HK. Mind you, I still have been enjoyed Silksong quite a bit, but HK feels like the better designed game overall.

I like Silksong more because Controlling hornet is a lot more fun than the knight, and i like the boss fights more. everything else is pretty similar.

though i do think nightmare king Grimm is HK in still up there as one of the best bosses between both games. i just think silksong had more good bosses than HK did

NKG is the only boss I never fought because I did the quest differently and didn't get to his fight and then I was never able to bother going through the Pantheon of Hollownest to reach him and fight him there.

I think the HK bosses are also just way better overall, there are a couple I like in Silksong, but tbh the basic ones tend to be the most fun and a lot of the creative boss mechanics are just reworked versions of stuff from the first game

I guess I technically never fought Pure Knight or whatever he's called and Absolute Radiance for the same reasons

spooky i never talked about if the bosses were basic or not, just that i enjoyed the fights more, also idk if i'd call first sinner a basic boss, not complex, but not basic

dancers were very fun, though a bit easy

Widow, clockwork cancers, and tobbio are all fun but easy
