No it didn't, it completely retconned huge aspects of the world

If you mean the Brotherhood of Steel, that's the cannon direction that Bethesda wanted them to take

which; I think is stupid, but that's the lore

Brotherhood and enclave being back, NCR's capital having fallen prior to new vegas, vault tec starting the war and still existing in the current time, ghouls regenning and needing drugs to prevent going feral

The last one I'll give you was probably a stupid show-forced change

The west coast being basically desolate and shitty when all of obsidians games showed it had been largely settled

The whole war origin thing is stupid in the show

but it fit in with the whole direction of Fallout, post F4 and F76

It retcons mr house to being kind of a retard

Also, obviously politically motivated lore change by making it muh megacorps who started the war and not the U.S. and chinese governments

the showrunner's direction to writers and actors was they wanted to create a world, where the average intelligence was 80, and to take that into mind with everything they did

and that is pretty heavily implied to be direction/inspiration from Todd

I was always under the impression that the only reason they screwed around so much was because they thought the nukings wouldn't happen

i dont even mind that they "started it", because lorewise many of the games do hint that everyone knew it was coming really really soon, even day before

the issue is why they "started it"

but spooky is right tha tthe show is accurate for the direction bethesda wants to take the series

the isuse is that the direction they want to take the series is in a way that contradicts the core identity of what makes fallout good and engaging

as its approximations from a childs perspecrtive about the story and themes, a lack of media literacy that causes the theme to fly over their head

i will say frfom what i know of the show though

the BoS is even more of a character assassination

They're like a parody of evangelical christians

its also funny how we had three games worth of the BoS dying out on the west, going from power to slowly dying out and becoming irellevant, due to their inability to change, and most of the endings of NV tackle this exact problem

instead of coming back to this using the east coast chapter as a wayt to contrast and compare maybe a remanants tier of the west coast, and show the faltering of ideals of a split commnity hundreds of years later

they just kinda go BIG SHIP MAKE PEOPLE COME :DDD

and instead of like how the old world US, China and other countries faded- the BoS was going to too, they go "ehhh nuke america (ncr) and bos finna be everywhere again :DDD"
