Yeah a guide rewrite would be very helpful
It does not help that some games are super easy and others are more complicated
Mario 64 takes like 20 minutes to setup, but then it is literally just plug and play
OoT you need to drag shit into windows which is a hurdle that will kill like 35% of players
Vinny you should try setting up the mario 64 one sometime, since if we do this more than once I imagine you might want to try mario 64
I know every game is different but the setup guides lack of clarity makes it easy to miss shit

Mario 64 is really nice because again, it takes like 20 minutes to generate, but after that it is super easy to play
it handles the randomization server side, so you do not need the file thing you need to use for OoT
and it seems to run on some version of the pcport, so no emulator nonsense to deal with
Some games are def way more harder to do then others

the one I tried felt janky
I know there are like 3-4 different pc ports
I am excited for the paper mario pc port that will come in then next few years now that decomp is done

there's actually a button in the main archipelago client to open the local instal folder

Still, this is the first thing I've seen use program data over program files or program files x86
Program Data is hidden by default in windows too

That sounds like it would be hell to set up though
It does not need to be exact, and just needs to be for the major settings tbh
like do OoT default settings, with entrance randomizer, with starting ocarina (since not starting with it generally adds +1 hours)
Having the list of checks sure, but the expected playtime can vary wildly

you can generally guess the length (assuming average skill level) within a 2 hour range
I think just having the number of checks listed for each game, and check density (how fast on average you get get a check) would be good enough

I mean, you could go super autismo. I think objectively the best metric would be to have users submit their data for their runs, and make a chart so you could see how long the agragate run takes
