at least not yet
yeah, I kind of assume it's going to be up to whoever takes up the project
which is hard, because SOOO many people care about OOT and MM
so you'll have dozens of people yelling at you no matter what you do
yeah some of the stuff on the spreadsheet could be out of date
https://apnews.serpent.ai/ here is more options
It is very funny that this project polu and I happened to find that was cool had a PHIJKCHU connection
glad to see you've been working on something very cool
mario kart 64 is a hilarious addition
Yeah there is a lot of devs working on many different games archipelago is very cool
My only complaint is how user unfriendly setup is
I think if they work that out, the project will be huge
Yeah there are plans to continue making it better
It is going to take a lot of work for me, spooky, polu, and leg to explain setup to the rest of the server when we do our big group run
I also struggled to find the archipelago install folder which I needed for the lua script for oot
That is just you being a retard though
to be fair
Thats not on them
The main issue is the guides are hard to follow, even for people who are more tech literate than the average user
Program data is a very uncommon install location
its not
Program Files is the usual default place not data
I think the next big thing the team needs to do is just make video tutorials for Windows (then mac), Linux is less of a big deal because the people who use that are use to weird installs
Replying to Phijkchu_Cynnydaquil #vinnyg Program Files is the usual default place not data
For a lot of things, it is

Yeah a guide rewrite would be very helpful
It does not help that some games are super easy and others are more complicated
Mario 64 takes like 20 minutes to setup, but then it is literally just plug and play
OoT you need to drag shit into windows which is a hurdle that will kill like 35% of players
Vinny you should try setting up the mario 64 one sometime, since if we do this more than once I imagine you might want to try mario 64
I know every game is different but the setup guides lack of clarity makes it easy to miss shit
Yeah, it is not the best

You’re probably right yeah
Mario 64 is really nice because again, it takes like 20 minutes to generate, but after that it is super easy to play
it handles the randomization server side, so you do not need the file thing you need to use for OoT
and it seems to run on some version of the pcport, so no emulator nonsense to deal with
Some games are def way more harder to do then others
I forgot sm64 had a pc port
sm64 was the first pc port in fact
for n64 games
anyways
I like whatever version of the pc port this project uses
the one I tried felt janky
I know there are like 3-4 different pc ports
I am excited for the paper mario pc port that will come in then next few years now that decomp is done
It’s also prolly been a while so there’s likely been a bunch of refinements to it too
paper mario would be a good game for archapelago
Open RCT2 is one of the games
lmfao
Thanks for linking this page the artist formally known as karp
this is a cool list of non official projects that are being worked on
Ye and there are 2 paper Mario games in active development
Thats cool
Replying to Phijkchu_Cynnydaquil #vinnyg Program data is a very uncommon install location
there's actually a button in the main archipelago client to open the local instal folder
Yeah, that makes sense
most good programs do that
Still, this is the first thing I've seen use program data over program files or program files x86
Program Data is hidden by default in windows too
Which makes it even weirder to me
Replying to legorhin #jazardly what i want is a table with every game with checks count, expected play time, platform, and support for the common bank and gifting features (edited)
that would be a good idea

That sounds like it would be hell to set up though
It does not need to be exact, and just needs to be for the major settings tbh
like do OoT default settings, with entrance randomizer, with starting ocarina (since not starting with it generally adds +1 hours)
Having the list of checks sure, but the expected playtime can vary wildly
Rng plays a big part
Yeah but that is normalized more or less
you can generally guess the length (assuming average skill level) within a 2 hour range
I think just having the number of checks listed for each game, and check density (how fast on average you get get a check) would be good enough
I feel like it would need to be more then just that
Have not just max checks
