Anyways if you buy an ost and it is an exe you should be allowed to refund it

standard practice or not
The top steam review is explaining how to rip the ost from the exe
Yeah, and it should be
I am aware of what they want
mp3 is fine for 80% of people
that is less of a big deal
Most people are not audiophiles
I agree
I just think most people do not care
You have to remember that a majority of people will be using dogshit headsets that fuck the audio anyways
Honestly, I think it would be funnier if they started selling tiers of osts
bottom tier you get mp3s, top tier you get flacs
Thats funny, and is the logical way to fleece as much money as possible
charge standard market price for shitty mp3s, premium price for flacs
Yeah that makes sense
For sure actual orchestra pieces would be more important for lossless formats
A lot of DRM is to make the barrier high enough that normies do not care to steal it
Replying to taxes #tzfi this has beenthe practice in the tripple A gaming industry for like 5+ years now
I feel like I've seen one or two games that tried to make the digital extras an "experience", but most just give you an MP3 folder.
Honestly why the fuck do people care though, just download the flac/MP3 files yourself, from a better source quality anyway.
Some devs don't even bother with a separate Steam listing, it's just a folder in your game directory
Replying to Spooky Phijkchu #spooky.131 I feel like I've seen one or two games that tried to make the digital extras an "experience", but most just give you an MP3 folder. Honestly why the fuck do people care though, just download the flac/MP3 files yourself, from a better source quality anyway.
tripple As all do EXEs or baked ingame stuff now
Elden Ring
It was just a folder
i mena a lot of indie devs probably don't even have lossless sources availible
That's the most recent AAA one I bought that I remember
I usually rail against DRM, but given that it's Steam(where you shouldn't be buying music anyway)
no come on spooky, everyone needs to buy the phijkchu quest ost on steam
I do like the new Steam music feature
it's annoying how it doesn't show you any file metadata at all
Where you can have a soundtrack you own be BG for the store/client
and how the "media viewer" has no order
Uh, are you on the beta client Pirate?
I think it does
well it has an order
but the devs can't set it (us)
so it's basically random
it doesn't show you tags or even artist names
