Ironically, I almost think the Ubisoft approach would make me feel more accomplished, even if it made the game worse

Swamp could be: "earn favour with this faction, so they lower the bridge for us: and then just have you do open world bullshit for a few hours until it's time to go to the next map

It's a very different feeling that they have right now, which is cool/unique

But (at least in the Swamp) I never felt like I was doing anything

I was scraping by to get from point A to point B

I'd clear a camp, but it's not like that would really get me anything

That is how the desert feels

I'd argue most of my time was spent driving in the desert

When I heard this metro was going to be somewhat open world

I thought of a free roam metro with the city overtop

which would of been 10000000x better

mapping out and exploring the metro, using railcars to your advantage

using the surface to get more supplies

a whole city to explore

lets just make a swamp with 4 bandit camps

Actually, even if it wasn't quite that, but you had more freedom to move between a bunch of "open world" city sectors it could work

I mean there's mutant nests as well, not point to going to those though

There's no point in doing any of the open world stuff aas it is, which takes the fun out of the open world
