Guy entering his undergrad who asks me questions sometimes
This guy 100% got scammed
You do use calculus in parts of quantum
depending on how you are doing it
You do integration and shit all the time
This person is entering university, they have to run the full gambit of quantum courses before the get to the computing courses (which is 4th year)
there might be a 3rd year quantum computing course actually, but same difference
This person has zero idea what the fuck they are talking about or looking into because they are a high schooler (or rather, was, since they are starting uni in the fall)
He probably payed way too much for some scam consulting thing and asked for a list of nonsensical things and they gave him something
other than math which might offer a track for that, quantum computing is done through physics at UW
Engineering and CS for sure have no courses in it here
as far as I know
All the courses are cross listed phys and math and I think most of the people doing it are applied math people
but there are phys people working in it at UW
I've seen those scams before
Usually it's preying on desperate CS undergrads, but the lingo here seems to be about the same
Very Indian-coded as well
Hold on wait I think I remember this guy having another retarded scam sounding thing
let me see if I can find it
The comparison is that it's like those paid lists you can get yourself out on, that essentially turn into a way to send you glazing correspondence trying to get you involved in random other scams
So this consulting services will give you basic survey-level help, and then push you to spending on their affiliate services
I don't care enough to tell this guy he got scammed, but I am nice enough to give him actual school advice
thus is the duality of man
Yeah, you can't convince someone desperate they are getting scammed
(and tbh it's a lost cause unless you're actually friends with them)

Spooky you will really like this comment chain
Indians who are trying to do higher education but not the scam degree mill kind are so interesting
Thank you for your service containing them to Canada 🫡
This guy is not even the problem kind who flooded into community colleges to just work at timmies instead of actually doing school
this is the kind of guy who will do his 4 year degree here, then try to move to the US
so he is your problem in 4 years
and yeah, I've seen scam services like that, exactly what I expected
Unless trump stays on for his 3rd term as planned
Indian fatigue is so real, I think he's too late ngl
some will always sneak through, but if he's the kind of guy who keeps getting scammed like this
I don't think the odds are that high
me when an Indian discord scam bot joins the server
They won't fucking leave my poor physics club server alone
lmao
Yeah they are a plague
The indian bot did not respond and I had to ban them
