this goes back to me not understanding how people fall into parasocial relationships, but maybe its just my mentality, i don't fall into them thus i cannot understand them

I see an issue with it if it is not because at the moment they are doing something pretty funny. If you are just randomly donating to donate thats weird, but if you are tipping a coin to the dancing monkey I can get that

I don't see an issue with people donating to content creators they really enjoy. Most people don't whale.
I feel like donating has to have a purpose, and most streamers are already millionaires or are completely non-genuine

I wouldn't tell people they *can't* do it, I don't like moralizing how people spend their money but I do think the mindset behind donation culture is unhealthy, and I resent streamers (like Rob) who feed it and stoke unhealthy tendencies

I do kind of inherently like youtubes system of superchats more than twitch's pure donation model (ignoring that you can kind of do highlighted messages with twitch donations)
