Yeah, other than some edge cases, like emulating 3DS controls for games like Kid Icarus
nintendo emulation is really good
the availability of the ROMs is also amazing
they're just.... all there
Yeah
As they should be
Honestly, all games that are not being sold should be freely available
When I was doing my stupid rance playing, I learned that alicesoft made a lot of their old games freeware and just released them all, and I wish more companies just did that
That reminds me, Robs stupid public domain statement is getting closer
this is actually shocking to me
phijkchu should release urealms live on steam as a standalone game then
:Kappa
the entire world is like this, not just America
Replying to Phijkchu_Pikachu #klombak That reminds me, Robs stupid public domain statement is getting closer
Public domain statement?
Rob made some bs statement that all of his stuff would go public domain in 4 years
during one of his breakdown arcs
<2.5 years!
of course you can
Rob has no idea how copyright law works, but you can denounce ownership of anything at any time
given you actually own it
Rob doesn't have any formal IP codified anyway
His whole statement was that he'd release assets of everything he's worked on
and consider that releaseing it into the public domain
no, they're not
the videos are not copywritten upon creation
YT's creative commons stuff is totally different
I think Rob thinks no one can do anything with his ips unless he tells them they can

I was going based off these.
Copyright in General (FAQ) | U.S. Copyright Office
Copyright in General
www.copyright.gov
What copyright is - Canadian Intellectual Property Office
If you produce original literary, dramatic, musical or artistic work, you'll want to learn more about what copyright is and how you can use it to your advantage.
www.ic.gc.caDunsparce, I genuinely don't know what you're trying to state
and he can totally do that
he owns no IP from which to do that with though
so the only interesting change will be him releasing assets, which is seperate from the whole IP in the public domain thing
Unforgotten Realms the cartoon is weird because of the Escapist
ignoring that
every other thing Rob has made or produced has no formal copyright
videos, assets, characters, etc.
if they did, he could at any time opt to nullify that ownership and release it into the public domain
but he doesn't, so nothing legally will change
that first statement is factually incorrect, as a simplification of copyright protection standards
YouTube has a very murky implementation of something similar, their Terms of Service is the first layer and has the same lack of legal authority as other ToS's
They do allow for the uploading of actual copywritten works, and they can extend those protections to their platform
On the topic of Rob saying he'll putting assets into the public domain: Is there anything he actually couldn't distribute? I don't think he could distribute the Unforgotten Realms theme, as it's a royalty-free commission from Nathan Allan Pinard, who does have a copyright on it, but besides that, I don't know.
I don't think it really matters
so Rob should do whatever he wants
if he doesn't want to dump 3rd-party asset libraries, he'll just stick to his
I don't think there's a right/wrong way for him to do it

Replying to Phijkchu_Pikachu #klombak Not that it matters since all marvel movies since infinity war have been complete shit
I liked Shang Chi besides Aquafina
Replying to Phijkchu_Pikachu #klombak Rob has no idea how copyright law works, but you can denounce ownership of anything at any time
Does this mean if he says nothing in regards to that statement before the 4 years is up it’d hold up that he no longer owns urealms live?
He never copywrote urealms
spooky talked about it but I am sure you are reading this sequentially
basically, the original cartoon might be owned by escapist, but they probably do not care
the game, Rob never copywrote
Rob also has zero money
to fight a copywrite case
so he defacto has no ownership of anything
yes
if they person doing it refused to take it down
the only recourse is to go to court
