with Stadia, my only concern is that people who buy-into the cope about it not being a dead platform
will lose access to all the games they've bought within the next couple of years
since Stadia is a subscription + buy-to-play, for all the major games
People who are unironically building their collection on Stadia, will have nothing once Google pulls the plug
and I'd be shocked if they hand out Steam keys at EoL

but if you want the 1st party stuff, it's $50-$100, the service is $11.99/month, and then games are full-priced

I've had game stores go under I used to shop on, before Steam became 100% open to indies

but those were mostly $5-$10 games, maybe a $100 all-in

I don't think I've actually lost digital games from stores being shut down. The closest I can think of is buying a game that used eLicense, the company shut down and stopped selling, and if you want to install the game on a new computer and register it, you have to contact the company that licensed the eLicense software to the publisher that shut down.

Actually this is true; I completely forgot about the Wii Virtual Console and the Wii U eShop, but that's because I put homebrew software on my systems and backed shit up, and can flash shit onto the systems at any time.

When I was doing my stupid rance playing, I learned that alicesoft made a lot of their old games freeware and just released them all, and I wish more companies just did that
