I think at the end of the day, the biggest points against AI are that it will, and is, crushing middle intelligent people into paste who cannot do anything more so then they already couldn't, and it is going to collapse the world because it is kind of proving to people that the entire economy is a lie and that 95% of jobs are just adult daycare (edited)

I think about AI and stuff like this a lot, because I do see value in it while realizing that the world is kind of fucked because of it. Google search AI has helped me with assignment questions, not by giving me answers, but by giving me random suggestions on how to proceed that I messed around with myself

Yeah, his writing seems like he's dumping his thoughts onto text and not reformatting it into coherent reading. Random interjections and such. I'll be honest, I kept clicking footnotes and thought that the introduction was the entire article and below it was comments, so I'll hold my peace on it til I finish lol. I just agree with Tiny, it feels like this is a transcript to a briefing.

It does sorta read like a podcast transcript granted, one where the host isn't grifting dick pills or trying to fill dead air by restating the same thing on-repeat

I think I also had whiplash when I read this earlier today, because right before it I was reading a take from the spurned college fling of the Anthropic CEO (who herself was an old-school PHD in machine learning and AI), saying that even if he is able to cure her cancer with AI she'll turn him down. And you could hear the reddit applause in her head as she wrote that
