it's a really strong ruling, most people expected cox to win on a technicality
but they looked past the technicality, and ruled maximally in favor of consumer privacy and free speech rights
they won the lower rulings

so yeah basically if they want to just not do anything about people breaking copyright, they're allowed to do nothing

As I said, it's possible this changes nothing, but it also means that the ISPs could just stop everything because it no longer has any profit incentive. Like, purely monetarily, they don't want to cancel pirates because that's just money lost.
