if you tell a kid the square stands for something that could be anything

differentiation and integration are also closely tied to physics, so it's a lot easer to understand those concepts once you've taken physics

introduce velocity as a derivative in physics to ground it

or acceleration

don't teach mathematics as abstract rules, teach it in the context of why it was derived

We're already teaching physics extremely late into education, so I'm fine with moving that up, but it's still difficult to just shift EVERYTHING forward a few years.

I didn't take physics until senior year I'm pretty sure lol

In my area, most students take physics junior year

I got there in the end

I think it helps you be open to common retarded shit and actually "understand" some number uses in the real world

I really enjoyed my grad level engineering stats course

I genuinely believe it's actually one of the few classes that can help you in normal day to day life

My radical way to fix education is to not just make it daycare like it is now

So much of K-6 rn is just wasted time, and a glorified public daycare system

That fails at education, habit building, life skills, nutrition/physical activity... Honestly everything

15% of people want to learn 70% of people can be compelled to learn 15% of people should be removed

Put the gifted kids on a special track, but socialize them with the 70% as well

And genuinely, create a pre-prison system for the bottom 15%

I do agree that our education, starting at the elementary levels, needs a massive restructuring if you want it to actually be efficient, but straight up removing 15% of the population is not going to be acceptable.

I worked with low-functioning special needs in special education elementary classes actually. They are far more "daycare" obviously.

Create a separate system for them, but there is no saving them Packaging them in with the normal kids makes your metrics look better

yeah, separate tracking I agree with for them, I just think that that tracking level needs to still TRY to make something out of them, don't just make it a daycare completely

A lot of the issues we have with tracking currently is that teachers kinda just don't care about the lower levels of students, and that would absolutely continue with the system you're discussing. That's obviously difficult to fix, but still, teachers need to do better.
