To be less clickbaity and more accurate to what actually happened, the UK supreme court ruled that the rules for protections for women are based on biological sex, but specifically stated that transgender people are still protected under other rules that exist
yeah and like nothing prevents a trans woman from saying they are being discriminated for being a woman still even if it no longer matches the specific legal definition in this context. a semi nothingburger ruling. also just funny and unnecessary for the people to be frenzied to this degree over 0.1 percent of the population stil

Cons were basically running on a single issue (carbon tax) which Carney removed in his first couple weeks of being interum PM, so they lost their single issue
NDP is perma fucked into irrelevance unless they get rid of their current leader

I still think its a lib minority government, but time will tell if they manage a majority somehow
Since NDP nuked itself, and bloc voters (seemingly) have mostly swapped to lib this election, this is the closest Canada has ever been to a 2 party system

the MAJORITY of normal non-boomer Canadians want to proceed with a system that advances shared cross-border intermingling and get to a point where they can have broader access to everything in the US

Housing and immigration are still the top two issues in Canada, irronically Trump is a good distraction

agreed those are the top two issues. Immigration was making some decent steps at the end before trump at least with them actually starting to kick people out of some provinces
not nearly enough, but some progress at least
housing is fucked because most of our wealth is tied in it, and it will not be fixed until an economic collapse maybe incentivices fixing it
hopefully the larger economic downturn convinces you guys to kick the rest of them out
since like 70% of politicians have investment houses

I think immigration is easier to fix if we just make it prohibitively hard for the people who came on loopholes to work during their stay (they originally were, this was relaxed because the government is greedy and companies wanted cheap labour)
if the "students" cannot work a full time job, a lot of them will have no choice but to leave instead of "study"
If they leave, this will cause a cooling on the housing market presumably, at least for apartment rentals I think
I do not trust any party of my government to do this though, because again, they are evil

I love watching J.J.McCollough (semi popular conservative canadian journalist) malding whenever Carney says something anti Trump/anti America and being like “no that’s not good don’t say that 😠” conservatives are dropping the ball on this free pass to win easy votes
They don't even have to say "we hate Trump". Literally just come out and say "the 51st state comments are unacceptable, and we will fight for the best interest of Canadians" or a similar platitude without specifically stating how
