also, the whole deportation thing is really funny, and it's not been reported correctly anywhere
The supreme court ruled 9-0 that Trump has to give the one guy they deported by accident "due process", and implied he'd have to be brought back to stand trial
so Trump just declared him a terrorist by putting him on a list, and thus due process states he can do whatever he wants to him
and so he stays in the Salvadorian rape dungeon
no, as far as I can tell, he's an illegal immigrant, who snitched on other gang members, to get the DoJ to give him an indefinite hold on deportation
that's Spooky conjecture, because the fact he was a non-citizen, given an indefinite deportation hold and is a confirmed gang member is weird

same way that giving court immunity to rapists/murders to get them to testify against someone worse is unpopular, despite being a net good
what people want is for a snitch to snitch, and then for some vigilante to get them anyway
you're right that it shouldn't be the government renegging on its word though
I think I sort of get it though, leading with "we're fucking over a snitch" is probably bad optics, for their future ability to get people to snitch
and public opinion is w/e about it

To be less clickbaity and more accurate to what actually happened, the UK supreme court ruled that the rules for protections for women are based on biological sex, but specifically stated that transgender people are still protected under other rules that exist
yeah and like nothing prevents a trans woman from saying they are being discriminated for being a woman still even if it no longer matches the specific legal definition in this context. a semi nothingburger ruling. also just funny and unnecessary for the people to be frenzied to this degree over 0.1 percent of the population stil
