Clive Palmer has announced a new political party "Trumpets of Patriots". I used to admire Clive, because unlike Trump, I figured Clive had a chance of becoming prime minister while in a party named after himself (Palmer United), while Trump had no chance of becoming president. Up till Tucker Carlson went on tour with Clive, I used to call Trump "America's Clive Palmer".... then I accidently caught myself thinking the other thing.
He went from Palmer United Party, to United Australia Party, to Trumpet of Patriots. Now he is naming the party after someone else.
According to Sky News' preview (which I don't know whether to believe or not) he wants to "Make Australia Great Again", which raises some questions. Back in 2016-17, UAP ran on "Make Australia Great". At what points between 2016 and today did Australia BECOME great and then lose its greatness?
The original slogan was always self aware that Australia was never great in the first place. But I guess the lefties complained about Clive saying Australia was never great.
