I mean, that is how they'd get them
emulators are legal, and proven via caselaw to be protected
have you found the full case?
I can't find it

thank you resetera
The only count that 100% will get dropped is 5 I think
since it is just contributory since yuzu users have dumped roms
1-4 I am curious to see how that plays out
it does seem to be based on prior precedent Nintendo has set for people breaking their DRM
and 4 is just kind of retarded on Yuzu's part, don't try to run an emulator and also run an explanation on how to pirate
that should be two seperate (or at least seemingly seperate) groups to prevent reasonable grounds for being sued
Vinny I was hoping in the screenshot proof of ToTK piracy, you'd show up
Sadly neither were you
There may be more screenshots used as proof but I likely wouldn’t show since I played on actual hardware

[yuzu] yuzu will pay $2.4 million in damages to Nintendo to settle their lawsuit. This was mutually agreed upon by both parties. https://t.co/XeOaaO03Z7
twitter.comYuzu settled apparently
Probably
They had a lot of backers on patreon
Here's the full doc for anyone curious
they make a ton on patreon
Nintendo probably had a figure for how much roughly they made, asked them to fork over whatever post dev work profits they had, and they agreed
along with other stipulations
like I said before, I think YUZU would have lost some of (but not all) of the charged Nintendo brought against them
I think they would have beat nintendo on a lot of the things, but I ain't their lead so idk what they're thinking
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Nintendo was smart and was not arguing that emulators are illegal
since that is proven case law
they went for a vector of attack that Nintendo has won cases for in the past
Nintendo has some case law in their favour for what they were arguing, so I think YUZU, unless they somehow got a lawyer better than Nintendo's lawyers, would have lost

[yuzu] yuzu, in its current form, will cease to exist. Their settlement with Nintendo prohibits any distribution of yuzu in built and source code form. Development must also stop. The yuzu website and related services will also be shut down. https://t.co/INBkXCf38d
twitter.comThere are like 2 other switch emulators arn't there?
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I do not emulate switch or 3DS games
Most modern console I have ever emulated is the DSi
Yuzu is generally good and is definitely the most popular
WTF happened to software devs
How are they all such spineless faggots now
I was explaining why software devs are faggots
fuck you

[Citra] It appears that the Citra emulator (3DS) may have to shut down as well. This is likely because yuzu and Citra were under the same management, and the settlement with Nintendo was broad enough to extend to all their consoles, and not just the Switch.
twitter.com@Spooky Phijkchu this'll kill you
citra also has to die because the same tranny devs were on both
