Fighters be like “yeah, I’m gonna walk 40 miles in heavy plate armor with a long sword and 20 arrows”
A 1st level fighter wearing plate mail, carrying a longsword, bow, and quiver of arrows is going to have at least 15 strength to wear the plate mail, probably has good constitution and at least half-decent dexterity. A 1st level fighter is also SIGNIFICANTLY stronger than a normal human. a 10-11 in 3.x/4e/5e in an ability score gives a +0 modifier, but that's not the average for a normal person.

Rogues be like “I’m going to rob people even though everyone knows what a rogue is and looks like”
Do you only play with people that play complete stereotypes for classes? When I play a rogue, if I'm somewhere safe, I'm wearing normal clothes, or if I'm paranoid, I'll be wearing leather armor with baggy clothing over it. I'm not going to be trying to actively sneak around in a church full of people.

Yeah, by dictionary definition, a nigger is an ignorant person, and if we're bringing a historical context into it, it's typically directed toward black people.

I know this isn't Rob chat, but for all the shitty or stupid stuff Rob has made, he got it pretty right with the bandit thing. Eluamous hides in the bushes, while Schmoopy just tosses his gear in the bushes and puts on the beggar rags, and the bandits just walk past him, cuz he looks like he doesn't got shit on him.

Just because you're a rogue doesn't mean you have to walk around in leather armor all day, twirling daggers, slipping in and out of the shadows throughout town.

That's also why you shouldn't wear actual robes as a wizard in most instances, just nondescript clothing; any intelligent enemy force will see robes, a pointy hat, a quarterstaff, and charge right for the fucker.

very true

But isn't the whole point of a roleplaying game to, yknow, roleplay? Like, if you have to trek 40 miles, why would you walk from point A to point B, wearing your full plate armor, sword and board equipped, when you could wear normal clothes, get a couple horses and a cart, and ride there?

Rogue gets shit on a lot for forcing the party into theft but if you can’t do your class shit in combat you don’t have many other opportunities other than pickpocketing a merchant

thats why I only play rogues in a neutral party or evil party.

The thing that actually sucks about rogue is when he’s the only one trying to be stealthy/able to be stealthy
You have to at least try to think as a character, not a person playing a character. If you're in a party with 4 or 5 other people, and you have two people in plate mail or chain mail stomping around, you have to either take point far ahead or fall back way behind, basically to the point you can see them, but if they engage with an enemy, you won't be immediately discovered.

5e rogue is really strong in combat
Especially now that you get sneak attack damage with ranged weapons, dexterity increases ranged damage, and all you need is advantage or your target to be engaged with an enemy adjacent to it to get your sneak attack.

If you roll human rogue with assassin archetype, then by 5th level, you can be using a heavy crossbow, take crossbow expert and sharpshooter, and snipe people from, what, 200 feet away without disadvantage, automatic crit if it hits, plus 3d6 sneak attack damage?

Anyway, sorry for all the sperging and rambling. I just hate when shit like this is done when there's absolutely no need for it, and I don't think it ever leads to improved sales of products or anything, so it's completely pointless, especially if, as everyone here is saying, you can just house rule it how you want. (Not to mention that the 5e DMG straight up tells you to house rule whatever you want, however you want)
