Goated
I want to go to Colorado that has some great nature
Kribbles, you better hurry and become a Denver expert, despite just moving there
I'll probably be out there in January, and expect you to know all the insider local recs
If you had more than 2 eyes, how many could you close and have it be classified as winking.
- You cannot by definition wink.0 votes · 0%
- Exactly half of your eyes.8 votes · 36%
- Any number of eyes less than the total amount.1 vote · 5%
- Still just one open.0 votes · 0%
- Only one closed.13 votes · 59%
22 votes Poll closed
this should be select multiple
I think that for it to be a wink, there needs to be a current subset of two eyes that are able to catch the focus of an observer, and then one of them needs to close
so it depends on the arrangement of eyes
I asked my sister this to annoy her
then thought it would be a good poll
we need some christmas themed polls next week
3 isn't a real choice, I agree with Bob that it's realistically either 2 or 5 (ignoring the word exact because that's dumb)
but yeah I think that for a wink to happen, you need to meet these conditions:
-Need to be a set of two eyes that can gain focus and trigger the "these are human eyes" response
-# (alternatively, any set of arrangements that can trigger that response, like a 👁️👁️👃 👁️👁️ type thing. )
-One eye, or one eye representative needs to fully close
and then anything that happens to the eyes outside of that subset don't matter. they can do whatever. it doesn't change anything
it's probably honestly 1 until you get to a stupidly large number
what about a medusea Pirate
with a forehead 3rd eye
that's what I was trying to reason around, when it's symmetrically imbalanced
the 3rd eye isn't in the question, unless you're at an angle where you only see it and one other eye
I showed my family your answer Polu
my sister was amused
2 is the cloest to my answer so I'm voting for that but for the record doesn't accurately refelct my opinions
now that I think about it, the real answer is "any emphasized closing of an eye or eyes"
"I think we are all still picturing sexy spiders" - my mom, during the walk home
I am glad the poll is so split. Now that I am home, I agree that 3 of the answers do not make much sense, but I wanted to include edge cases in case someone happened to agree with them
If I could redo the poll, I would have included "all eyes on one half of the face" as an option
Yeah I think considering symmetry or not changes the answer
I like how every tme I look back, 2 new votes are added, perfectly split
its really funny

I found a crazy stat in Discord
my account has logged into Discord (across Desktop, mobile, and web) a total of 47 times
I've migrated desktops twice, phones twice, and laptop once in that time, so at minimum that's where 5 came from
so I've restarted my devices ~42 total times in (almost) 10 years
You know, mine is probably not that dissimilar
you shut your computer off every night I thought Pika
and Tiny, I did one of those data package export things from Discord
Oh, does it count actually relogging in, I have it set to auto log in. I thought you meant just manually entering your information to log in
then nevermind
I've completed 18 captcha logins, which are the non-automatic ones
that's probably not too disimilar, unless someone is only logging into the web client using public PCs
but no, 47 total client log-ins (client updates/crashes don't seem to count)
Good job spooky
I like that you have fallen asleep in vc more times than you have restarted your computer by probably an order of magnitude
I did a restart today
because my ethernet port stopped working
Intel's GbE chipset failed or smth
as we've established by Max posting that she had 200k/year
this is nothing
^Last year
yeah, took a full week for mine

Slop has been chosen as Merriam-Webster’s 2025 word of the year The term has been used often this year for awful AI-generated content
I thought the word was rage bait
Do we attribute slop starting from "goyslop" or "sloppa"
people are arguing which one technically started this
