Wish I’ve had more time to work on my version of urealms which I’m thinking of calling Realm Reforged I’ll share all the stuff if anyone interested but it a complete overhaul because I’ll be honest rawb had terrible game balance and design choices
But sadly boss been calling for overtime for the last month and half but I’ve been enjoying rewatching and taking notes
Replying to Dane #princelydone yeah, tell your boss that urealms is more important (because it is!)
Can’t sadly I’m important since I’m a mech drafter at a custom fab shop for switch gears and fabs running out of stuff to work on and we’ve been given double time pay
We are only a drafting team of 12 with 5 us being mechanical 6 being electrical 1 being structural
And the shop has a team of 200
that's a big shop, carrying 12 drafters on-staff is no joke

I will now be busyish until June instead of May
Also because Spooky will find this amusing, the picketers decided, I guess, to go outside the big first year psychology exam with megaphones to try to disrupt that so that, so now undergrads are pissed
Firing every single graduate student so they all have to drop out would be a move
or do you just mean the ones who did that
it was deliberate

I normally think people overblow things like that
"people were slightly loud in the library during finals week" type stuff
but actually fire those people
harassing undergrads for ZERO reason
Such a stupid choice lmfao
https://www.reddit.com/r/queensuniversity/new/ if you want to read some of the cope about it
r/queensuniversity
Queen's University community in Kingston, Ontario, Canada.
www.reddit.comany of the highly commented posts about it today are full of it
I don't use instagram which I presume is the only other play these zoomers are talking about it
so no
If I find a 4chan thread I'll let you know!
I legitimately can't, this is where the student body talks that does not require an account for me
aren't you in their Discord sever Pika, or did they make you leave because of the strike
I am not in the Queens discord
I am in the UW phys club discord because I still help run that, I never even joined any official/unoffical general UW discord
I do not join school chatrooms
I could post email correspondance I have gotten from the school I guess?
Idk what you actually want Max lmao
mostly money
Kingston is very expensive, and base line funding is 20k/year or something
idk, I get 33k because I would not go to a school that did not offer a proper funding package to me
I know universities are never going to give partial tuition refunds for impacted education
but I think they should be forced to
here you go max, this is probably the best I can do for "other than reddit"
only update I have gotten from queens
even if you love your school, when you lose a semester to admin politics or other bullshit
Most people, on average, just want to get their degree Dialga
even if you get money back from it, you are wasting time
Replying to Dialga #god_of_time wouldnt that just make people more disruptive so they can scam money out of the university spooky
less about the individual instance today, and more generally about the entire semester
I know plenty of people, who had that happen, and essentially had to ask "is it worth even continuing this semester or at this school at all" when you're looking at a bunch of admin changes or never-ending strikes
which is bad enough on its own, nevermind when you're also paying thousands of dollars for that
This term is for sure a wash, the class I am TAing for only got 1/4 assignments marked, and exam marking is going to be a mess
my undergrad didn't have one while I was there, but then covid happened right after, and since then I feel like I've not heard from anyone who has had a full 4-5 year college experience without losing at least 1-2 semesters, sometimes more
This one at queens is particularly bad because it is for sure not ending this term and going into the summer
most of them are 4-6 weeks
Queens does not run many summer classes, but I suspect they may just cancel the few they usually run
or heavily restructure them if not
I think it really stresses people out, you pick this school, you put a lot of yourself into it, into your coursework and your classes
the school becomes part of your identity while you're there
and then you hit a snag where they institution itself fucks you over, and you just have to take it
Yeah for sure
It's partially why I hate academic administrations, pretty much across the board
Agreed
gl Pika lol
Does not affect me!
they are protesting out from of the buildings the majority of students use, they have not come far enough down the main road of campus to get to the singular math building
yeah, I assume it's not going to drag out into the fall
Oh you meant in general
yeah
if it drags into the fall, I legitimately will have to talk to my supervisor about just not doing classes in the fall, moving back to Kitchener and working from home lol
I can take the hit for the month and half this has been, I will not be able to afford rent past that
Pikachu homeless arc
let's go
