There’s a lot of problems that will come with the fact that they’re choosing to make hornet the player character

why?

I'm excited, but you definitely have to design the game around it

she's a lot faster, with hit-and-run moves

The first and most obvious problem: she’s too tall

Having a small player character is very handy when you want a tight platformer and reasonably dodgable attacks

Then there’s the lore perspective, which also ties in with the game’s design philosophy

Hollow knight, similarly to games like dark souls, undertake, and morrowind, do this neat thing where they take common video game conventions and incorporate them into the lore

Dying and respawning? It’s because you’re made of void. Silent protagonist? You were literally bred to be voiceless so no one can hear your screams of suffering when you absorb the infection

Hornet talks and has a personality, she was used perfectly in the first game but if she is the main character they kind of have to abandon a lot of what defines hollow knight

Respawning/save stating is part of the nerevar’s power, only vivec is aware of this
