minecraft should give less grindy more fun alternatives to gaining exp

The skulk blocks seem to be the alternative

they really need to give us actual ways to gain xp if they're just gonna ruin all the ways people come up with lmao

As angry pigmen that die will form skulk blocks which drop xp when broken

that does not solve the grindy aspect of earning xp

passive xp generation would be cool

instead of "stand at mob farm until 30"

you can kind of do that with hopper furnaces, they're just such a shitty way to do it

clearly they should have a solar power backpack that replaces your chestplate

that slowly gains xp while in the sun

honestly just buff all other sources of exp

Even if its something like 2 hours for level 30

and add new ways to get it too

thats way preferable than standing in a mob farm

make harvesting wheat at full growthy give exp or something

farming stuff is a good way to add more xp to the game

make cutting down trees give exp

its "you never have enough" until you get to a point where you have mob farms

then its "wait until 30"

maybe just make crafting things give exp

like crafting planks

make it so you can burn blocks for xp

gives .00000000001 exp

so, if you have 100000 cobble

but crafting a beacon

gives 1000 exp

its worth 1xp per 5

so you can realistically get to level 30 in one mining trip

and you can have a way to get rid of blocks without just throwing it in lava

maybe they just want enchants to be more rare

I just think minecraft failed to balance xp and enchants

the problem is that no matter what they end up doing, it will always reward the try-hards with their farms

and leaves those who don't in the dust

honestly

just make it so when you reach level 30 the first time, you gain xp 3x faster

forever

that keeps the early game curve

then removes the late game curve

or make it so you only drop half your xp on death

Or to buff mob farms, make it so when you stand in the same are buff xp

all fun ways of getting exp suck

they should make it so mobs that die from falling damage drop xp, and hoppers can pick up xp and store it in glass bottles

so you can just have a mob farm and then never go to it until you need xp and then boom, have level 30

i don't care that the try-hards will keep finding ways to try-hard, i just wish it was viable for those who don't to earn xp relatively as quickly or fast enough to not kill the momentum
