man, the batch file that I had that deleted folders on my media drive and left just the files was apparently not setup for this new pc, RIP my desktop time to go look at recovery software

Recuva is usually pretty damn good

so what was this "delete everything" script supposed to do

uh, i just wanted a script to delete folders and keep the shit inside

mainly so that when i use jdownloader to pull all those files out of their folder and make it more manageable

you can set the default package in jdownloader to "."

which will just drop all of the files into one big folder

oh

or if you don't want to do it by default, you can just select all of the ones you want to merge into one folder, before you download

that would have saved me a now massive headache

I'm really bad with scripts to move files, so I usually just try to find workarounds

because I don't have the balls to move/rename thousands of files with no great way to undo it

I am lucky it was my desktop, because while there is some annoying shit i lost, if it killed the whole drive it was on that would be terabytes of lost files that I couldnt recover
