there are so many monkey ball games this next fest
I have concluded there are 0 (zero) worthwhile 3D platformers this nextfest
Replying to Spooky Phijkchu #spooky.131 Arkane is probably going to be kept alive until their upcoming Marvel game flops, then closed Rare and Ninja Theory could get a major reductions, but survive Compulsion hasn't made anything great, but they're small and artsy so there's no reason to cut them

It's weird how the US and Europe are different here

In the US, when something gets referred to a committee, that committee is staffed/run by our congressmen
In Europe though, they're fully independent
So the Parliament overwhelmingly asked for this, then the committee just decided not to
But the Parliament is powerless to make a new law unless the committee they formed tells them to
It's a weird system
I think the upside is because politicians are usually dogshit, a comitee that is entirely independent and does not have to worry about reelection/their sponsors in theory can do stuff that would usually not happen, but in this case, it kind of backfired
In trying to make it independent, they just made something that is arguably easier to corrupt
Buying politicians fully versus a paying off a one-time single issue comittee
The EU Parliament recommended that Stop Killing Games try some specific law to get their thing through as an enforcement action
To avoid this committee they formed that is clearly corrupt

I still an fascinated by the fact that cubeworld alpha was a viral hit, he disappeared for a long time, then released an objectively worse version that killed all hype for the game
Let it be known, I have only bought the alpha for 2 games in my life

I no longer have access to my alpha copy (old laptop that imploded)
