I'm not going to longpost yet, but I'm convinced about something in Crimson Desert
Act 1 (2-3 hours): Very Korean opening that everyone agrees you kind of have to push past
Act 2 (10-15 hours): World opens up, and the game is great, teases some of the midgame/endgame systems
Act 3 (5-7 hours): Weird out-of-place RDR2/Genshin style character re-introduction and HEAVY-handed earlygame system tutorials
They 100% swapped Act 2 and 3 around, but couldn't bring themselves to just cut act 3 completely
idk how I feel about the characters either, they're a good RPG cast, but I have doubts that being low-fantasy RDR2 is going to carry through the whole game
11 acts I think
it's VERY Korean MMO coded
in an approachable way
it actually doesn't feel like a copy of any game specifically, to my surprise
there's a lot of RDR2, but it's got Dragons Dogma, Botw/TotK, Genshin, and Witcher 3 in it too
+ Korean MMO framework
the game opens on a low-stakes Helm's Deep holdout type setpiece
with over-the-top cuts to every character as they do some epic move or die
Replying to Spooky Phijkchu #spooky.131 the game opens on a low-stakes Helm's Deep holdout type setpiece with over-the-top cuts to every character as they do some epic move or die
china likes this too
yeah, it fits for both
the difference is usually CN ones are so over-the-top they become funny
