I personally don't think kid internet access is a problem if you're a good parent, but seemingly parents WANT this sort of locked-down shitty experience for their kids so... give it to them imo

I think parental controls are a crutch in almost all cases too I remember kids in high school who still had intrusive internet monitors and the like pincodes on TVs, screen time managers on phones, etc.

I was allowed to use the internet as a kid but my mom would check my history after and if there were any unfamiliar sites she would ask me about them and and make sure they were ok.

if you don't want to be involved in your kids life and what they're doing, then you can offload some of it to built-in parental controls or these meme age verification things that are getting pushed now but it's just such a nothing measure to take, and in the end it probably prevents the vast vast minority of kids from gaining access to whatever you're keeping from them anyway

And then every layer on-top of that is just bad: no ability customization for each hero (and numerous anti-fun abilities), scuffed loot/equipment, nothing meta progression, shitty quests, extremely limited pool of maps/heroes, no real visual character/weapon customization (paid recolor skins only), and a lack of interesting interactables on each map
