telekinesis comes off pretty bad but the gimmick of 2 is entirely that you don't control the power and instead every single choice you make in the game influences how your brother uses his power and if he listens to you, and the choices you make cause him to use his powers in a certain way. its actually a really really good diversion of the main premise because it makes your choices in a choice game even more impactful

ds2 has archipeligo support now...
I'm not sure why they did DS2 before 1, but my friend did it in an archipelago and it was pretty miserable.

DS2 has fragrent branches and pharos lockstones, key to lost balistile, the key to black gulch ashen mist heart, giant souls, giants kinship, rotunda lockstone, reinforcing weapons is locked behind wasting a fragrant branch or getting lenigrasts key

i believe the default rando (non archipelago) just makes the cinders behind the bosses but yeah if you rando those it can be up to 6, 7 if you include the doll but doll technically can not be required

small doll and basin of vows are also major area unlocks. Yes, technically the game can be completed before needing them if you get all 4 cinders, but they're still key items.

if cinders are behind the bosses, you need basin and doll for sure

DS3 rando is still less linear than playing the game normally though. You can get basin early and have to do castle early, cathedral of the deep is an entire side area you can choose to skip or not, you may need to go to archdragon peak if you get the path of the dragon.

i judge the value of a randomizer off of how much you can adjust and how much the game ACTUALLY changes off of key items being mixed DS3 just "tkaes more time" You can't do anything "out of order" that you couldn't before

DS1 isnt much better but i think having more otpions of where to go lends itself to being better. and thiefs key is fuun as an item} but you need like the archives key, thiefs key/the key to go down, artorias ring (maybe)... and lordvessel if you dont get lordvessel (almost everyone plays with early lordvessel or cheaty TPing lol) then you walk everywhere though so... the most amount of adjusting that can happen is thiefs key letting you do what you can do int he base game

this is why zelda games are the peak of randos due to the plethora of keys and how items uunlock items in almost every area

and DS2 is the closest to that out of the games due to its massive amount of key items + branches + lockstones
I dunno if it's a setting or what, but my friend when he did DS2 got a master lockstone instead of individual ones.

can we add toushin gent to the archipeglagoego list even though it has literally nothing that could be randomized well

The only issue with lockstones is that you can absolutely lock items out. They'd have to logic check make sure those items are never required.
