Feels so unnecessary
I doubt that
first game added some vendors to let you sell your death-related mats, since they wouldn't work
ok, that's weird from both angles
so it is an NPC who did replace a death mat, but they gave it a unique fetch quest which rewards an item that gives periodic free shards
I used to like doing permadeath runs in arpgs
but both Diablo and PoE have such inconsistent servers
I'd never trust it anymore
silk cocoon 100% will give some benefit somewhere to abuse
routing will matter more, since a death only sets you back 30-60 seconds
sure if it was hyper optimized, you'd need to be deathless, and eventually it will be
There are a couple spots like that, I did it accidentally once and realized I zoned out after I ran off to heal

Everyone I know playing it has given up and is waiting for a patch, I didn't look into it beyond being told it was a UE5-Windows issue
either not able to render the gameworld and crashing, or running at <10FPS on good hardware
