Replying to Raccoons #raccoons9986 I played a bit of the first FFVII remake at my cousin's house and I was not having a whole lot of fun with it. It just seemed pretty mashy, and I don't like how it stops to let you figure out which special attack or item or whatever you want to do. I want either a JRPG where I'm thinking about my turn strategy, or a character action game where I'm actually doing the moves in real time and reacting to enemies. And besides, if you grind, you can just make the game immediately way too easy, since now your stats are better, and you can brute force your way through the encounter without actually having to learn the patterns, without engaging with the battle system. I didn't get better at the game, my characters dealing higher numbers decided the fight. (edited)
