There is no justification for an 80 dollar game to brick in a year

so this law is justified
Even without this law, I don't get why more developers don't just do it anyway
I get the publisher incentive not to
but devs not just making their games playable after death always struck me as weird
depressingly true
what's funny, is I think the indie scene is almost as bad as the cookie-cutter AAA games are at this point
everything is designed for profit first, and devs are just chasing trends and have zero passion for their game
there are passionate af devs left ofc
I don't think animal well was a good enough game for it to sell, divorced from Dunkey
maybe people glom on because it sold a ton, and look past that
but that feels like less of a sure thing than the wave of extraction games we're 100% getting
I think I saw a steam page for one
that was a cross between lethal company and overcooked (kinda)
where you have to collect and trade for stuff and bring it back to your starting point before resources get depleted
Animal well discourse died really fast (there is not enough reason to talk about it)
thats why we will not see the animal well wave
The game was competent, not worth the price point

Yeah it was a fun game, but def not worth paying that price for

new survivor looks ass
weird mid-range squishy healer that repurposes a bunch of unfun abilities of other survivors/items
she has a resurect though, so if you want to carry someone it might be good
oh, they also confirmed chef
but didn't show him
I feel like they're kind of at a creative dead end for items/enemies
I'm down to see what they add
but they tend to overdesign where it's not needed
granted, idk what I even want from ror, I feel pretty done with it
when they do eventually make a ror3, I'll be interested if they take any big risks redesigning things
In other news
Monster Hunter W showed off their first real weapon today
Monster Hunter Wilds: Gunlance | Weapon Overview

they're def revealing in reverse order of popularity
great sword ---> heavy blowgun ---> insect glaive ---> gunlance
oh I tried the demo for that, had no idea it was yogscast
it's worse than Balatro or the mahjong one, but maybe they polished it up more since the Spring NextFest when I played it
I think it being based around those weird victory point heart things hurt the overall design

kinda mid i don't see this having unique builds or interactions
my guess is they'll be adding a lot of healing/support items to the pool
yep, that's my feeling too
assuming there are 3 new survivors
so Seeker, Chef, and 1 more
oh lol, I didn't remember that
was this the uh mythric
