While a lot of these are goofy and kinda fun, like bloodseeker passive on AM, I hate facets.

the innate passives, I thought at first were only going to be a small buff to drow/Kunka/etc. who have passives they have to level already

but they're all over the place

facets should not exist, because that's what talents were for

if you want to remake everyone's first talent, fuck it go ahead

Yea, I feel most heros are just going to be forced to take once facet or the other 90% of games. Adding selectable passives seems like a bit much when you already have skill tree + agh shards.

minor buffs that don't really matter, but sort of define your "role" which you pick before the game starts

they'd be pointless, but not objectionable

Yea, I originally assumed we'd get either LoL style runes or passives. If they were like the older runes I don't think it would've been too bad. You can start with a lil extra of a stat you're trying to build for your role.

Some of them sound powerful, but I have only played 2 games. I know Marci has one that's a team wide courier buff for games start

I think the majority of characters have one that is objectively better 90% of the time

then there are fun ones like Dragon Knight, that I think are genuinely well thought out

and then a small minority, where both options could possible fit niche roles well

I kinda wish it was a cornerstone talent or something built into the skill tree, but XP would have to change and get a bit weird then

the purpose of the skill tree change, was to break a particularly stale meta where breaking high-ground was near-impossible

and games would go on for 80+ minutes regularly

skill trees were a system to give late game power benefits, that would be the push you needed to end a game

Neutral items as well, yeah they're relevent all game

but when it comes to pushing high ground, the team that is able to get their T5 neutral items gets a huge power boost to make that final push

yeah, the systems are well thought out, in that they aren't just buttons you click 70 minutes into the game, the system is semi-relevent all game, you pick your talents, you use lower tier neutral items

but the systems solve the late game being stale

aghs shards, innates, and facets just add more complexity that imo was uneeded

beyond scouting what the other team picked, it's just another layer of character skills to be aware of

with a lot of weird/goofy interactions

"oh hey, oracle now knows all future rune spawns" "oh hey, Dawnbreaker now gets to reveal the entire map every 12 minutes" "oh hey, Nyx is now a true sight ward"

Yea, I know you can simply hover over them anytime pregame and in the match. It's just like you said though, it's an unneeded layer of complexity. I've had some LoL Vangaurd refugees ask me about playing Dota, and this update I'm sure makes it a bit more daunting for them.

I don't think it's every character, but there are now skills that have potentially 4-5 different varients

depending on aghs/shards/talents/facets

and yeah, you can figure it out in the match and settle in

but I don't think that's fun

When do pros play the new patch? I'm assuming there's at least a months grace period or something, but I'd like to see how this plays out for people who are very good.
