it's mostly the updates ngl, the game's a lot of fun but it feels like it could be a lot bigger
progression is battlepass based, but it feels like Halo did when we played and the actual unlocks weren't that interesting

it's also smaller than I think you'd expect, squads of 4 make it feel like much more of a co-op game than you might expect
despite all the "massive multiplayer" out-of-game features it has
not very
I think it's a lot of fun to play, it'll either click or it won't though
I wouldn't call it a "horde game" either like some people do, mobs are definitely wave based but in a way more similar to RoR2
which also kinda makes sense, given they talk a lot about their game orchestrator like L4D/RoR/Rimworld also use as a selling point
might as well try it
and just return it if it's zero fun for you without also bullying Polu into getting it
It's not a tradtional MP game, which is the only reason I don't feel that way really
Just have Polu drag you back to play The Finals
I'd play games with you and Polu, but its hard to find 3 player games that mesh well with our dynamics
I think it's one of the best recent shooters
But it's not that high of a bar
I liked tribes 3 but it is super unfinished
I really, really want Bungie to stop delaying Marathon
I think thats the only FPS I've played recently

All these shooters fuck up progression on launch, and then wonder why all their players leave

This all comes back to the idea that games should sell friend packs

Ever since the bots were defeated its been clear that theres no point in buying the game rn. I advice you wait till either the new enemy is released or when bots return. Also the game has bugs and crashes every 5th game, so waitimg for them to fix it will be worth it so your experience isnt soured
