And then did the surface
idk, I've lost so much progress after the tower
My game is all sorts of broken
I'm 8 as well
And yeah, I share the same feelings
There are some small bits of good writing/characters
But the overall story and structure are just..... Yeah
I'd like if there were more standalone adventures,
It feels like everything needs to fit into a neat good/evil faction box
The underdark was the most different
Yeah, I assume it does too
Act 2 felt a lot smaller
Which is fine, but I assumed they were going for a classic 3 act structure.... And it seems even more basic than that
Yeah, that feels like the bare minimum tbh
I want a game that is 90% that
And sure, maybe some stuff connects back to a "save the world" plotline since that's obligatory
The gnolls have somewhat of an explanation for their appearance there, you can investigate it and it makes sense sorta.
The goblins at blighted village, okay they're there, but why? If you actually ask around in the blighted village they don't say why. You see the goblin fight in the way to the druid grove but there's no explanation other than goblins!!! for a long time. You finally get to their camp and ONLY if you talk to Minthara do they finally explain that the goblins are in the blighted village because; they're searching for the grove. Why does the absolute want the grove? No answer or reason. This is further clarified to be related to the mcguffin, but the mcguffin was on the ship- not the grove. It's entirely unrealted and the story doesn't even try to connect them. So you don't know why your enemies are there, what they're doing or anything about yhem until the final boss of the area
I won't lie and say divinity was polished by any mean, but I've replayed it on launch and post relase many many times and I can really only think of 2 things that "break" quests, one of them is an extremely valid and common complaint that breaks nameless isle.
if you find a secret tunnel and go inside, it skips the "finding the door" part of the quest and automatically moves alexander and sallow man. people complain a lot about this and it causes so much to move and it's an extremely valid complaint because you're punished for exploring
