I'm still in act 1

it has the same flaws and pitfalls as a Nasu stories

which are often 10x rewritten to incorporate new ideas

and we know from early access changing the story multiple times

that that's the case

yeah, I see bits of that

it's literally just spread too thin

I also notice cases of where, clearly this story thread/quest was someone's project, and then they jsut cut it short

and capped off the end abruptly

because they wanted too much

it's funny in some parts

maybe I'll feel different in part 2 but

so far I enjoyed divinity a lot more

yes, I laughed at a 4th wall breaking moment

the divinity act 1 felt much stronger

it was really well done

jsut.... also kind of funny that they had to do it

everything feels

so loose

and unconnected

like all of fort joy connected to each other part and had plot threads tying them

the most you'll find in bg3 is a dead tiefling in an area and you'll go "that's one of them probably"

Fort Joy is one of the best areas in any RPG, period

but like even act 2 of dos2, every main area refetenced another- or teased it or Arx

I don't even fucking know the name of this opening area

that's how little it cares world building wise

like cool every few scenes a character will mention BAULDERS GATE

incredible

but nothing about events happening there, just what that character is going to do once they get there

no one talks about the actual area

they REALLY don't want me to do this

but characters rarely ever say them

it's like they put zero effort in world building

which is just odd

if I didn't know this was always Act 1 I wouldn't be surprised to learn it was thrown together quickly after they rearranged the game acts

act 1 is 30+ hours

i never played EA so I knew nothing

no it was smart

like the crypt with the respec/class changing skeleton

no character ever mentions it

it has zero story importance

it's just THERE

it's so weird

needing like 20 long rests

to unlock

so you either miss a bunch of story options
