D&D seems to be marketing mostly towards young women and LGBTs
in general
so it's not surprising

I feel like, if you remove "human" as an option
or rename human to something else

I think you are right in general, but I don't think it's necessarily because "it's easy"
most character creators have so many options that look bad, shitskins, long hair, beards, etc.
that it railroads you into wanting to look "good" and all the most basic options tend to look vr solid
even if it's nothing special
and humans in genral, feel like the jack-of-all trades playthrough
that 90% of people do
I do think, something as simple as renaming human
makes people more likely to actually roleplay
rather than le self-insert ubermench
esp now
since you get 50 options to customize your thundercock

I'll play whatever is either really funny, or if there is no funny options something cute
I think people who self insert into games and media are weird, I don't do that, so what I play as does not really matter to me all that much
