do you have a realtek control panel thing?
if you search "realtek" in windows

and your front pink and green
keep that window open, and open up your window sounds menu
again, ignore the pink for now
that's your mic
if the playback works, then the mic is probably trivial to fix too

ok so plug the mic into the port it works in
and plug the green into the port next to it

your colors might just be wrong
whatever port your pink is working in, plug green into the port horizontally adjacent to it

find the back panel one, set it as default, plug your headphones into it, and then hit the advanced tab, and hit test
go back one menu, right click on it
set as default
when you hit test
do the green bars light up
