This movie was so fucking goofy, the first half of the movie was just a slice of life dating arc where gobta got a girlfriend and hung out with here, then the second half was just shonen battle slop with a really funny ending

this entire sequence is ~5 minutes long, and continues to reuse the same fight and mindrape loops over and over again

yeah, its pretty funny

so cutting just the cool wolf segments is hard

without also getting random other stuff

A lot of recent shows I've liked (and some mangas too) have also had similar issues At some point they fail at executing a basic story balance, and then make up for it by overcorrecting and speedrunning to some "payoff"

which ends up just feeling unearned and/or silly

I get that assassin is just his job, but as it progresses (at least in the anime), he kind of just stops acting like he has 60 years of experience being the worlds best assassin

to the point where he might as well not have been one

also I don't recall, if he did, it just cut to him and it was not him meeting the hero
