It's still funny to me that the opening to Assassin, which sold me on the whole show

E1 was literally the best episode of anime that season

at some point 15 volumes in, you realize you did a bad job setting everything up, and benefit from a do-over

I will have to rewatch assassin whenever the S2 they announced is actually coming out, maybe I will be less mad at it the second time

Him using a rod from god against the guy in the last episode instead of being an assassin is what sold me on "this show forgot its premise completely"

the premise is him killing really strong things, not necessarily in stealth

A lot of recent shows I've liked (and some mangas too) have also had similar issues At some point they fail at executing a basic story balance, and then make up for it by overcorrecting and speedrunning to some "payoff"

which ends up just feeling unearned and/or silly

does the hero he was reincarnated to assassinate even show up in the first season?

I get that assassin is just his job, but as it progresses (at least in the anime), he kind of just stops acting like he has 60 years of experience being the worlds best assassin

to the point where he might as well not have been one

also I don't recall, if he did, it just cut to him and it was not him meeting the hero

And depends what I'm looking up if I still use it or not, you can get pretty far just matching with Google/Gemini images for a lot of stuff

Iqdb was always faster for bouru stuff

But that's all in most training datasets too

Really all I reverse image search for is to find the artist and other pictures they made
