maybe it is not for you, but it is a big deal for me
Smash has a story MODE, not a story Pika
There's a difference
Well, to be fair, according to the last direct. It's the same "lore" it's always had
Subspace and now world of light can be considered story
toys came to life and started fighting
It's a story mode
it doesn't need to be the main focus
I am just going to have to disagree with you two. I do not define port the way you two seem to
It stands on it's own, separate from the main part of the game
All I'm saying, is if you define a port as being a directly iterative sequel
Between a roster update and an actual sequel
Then Smash 5 is a port
a port is the same game being PORTED to a new platform
smash 5 is not the same game, technically speaking
Not the way Nintendo has done it for wiiU games Dialga
They take the game, add something, then re-release it
and I don't. To qualify as a port for me it needs to be the same game with almost nothing being changed. Enough is different for me to qualify it as a new game.
Bowsers Inside Story is getting an enhanced port to 3DS
It's getting a seperate, story campaign, in addition to tweaking the original main game mode
every Pokemon game is a port then. and so is every legend of zelda game. maybe every kirby game?
I don't for example count mario 64 ds as a port, it is a remake
all ports, max?
Dialga, do you not see the difference, honestly
Smash 4 had 58 characters, they reused those characters models attacks and assumingly animations, maybe tweaking values, making it be 16 characters that had too be animated and etc. Smash 4 had 55 stages, they made around 50 more for ultimate then. Add on adding "stickers" back. Add on small balance changes. Add on a "story mode".
16 "new "characters MADE.
50~ stages
Stickers
Story mode
Small gameplay tweaks and visual additions
Useless assist trophies and items
I do know what a port is
Max, Pika fundamentally disagrees for the record, going by his remarks on Maro 64 DS
I just do not agree with that definition of port
I think you're wrong Pika for the record, but no amount of arguing will change that
adding enhanced to the word port just makes me question to what degree is something still a port and not a remake
lol
I think there needs to exist something when discussing sequels, that's between a roster update (like sports games get) and a true sequel
I don't think ultimate is a remake either for the record
I still consider 64 to be a port
I also agree spooky that there needs to be an inbetween for roster update and true sequel, I just disagree with where you two are drawing the limit
if smash ultimate was just new characters than 100% I would agree it was a port
I would not know
I have not played it or the origonal
is the new mode important
It's a second campaign, like DLC in a lot of ways
yes, do note that everyone here is being subjective
including me
if smash did not have a new single player, I would be more willing to accept it as a port
yes
because singleplayer is a major part of the game
as it is packaged
Pika
yes for smash
yes it is
Did you not look at the site
