Actually, I think it's pretty much been all women they've highlighted
One of the presenters made a comment "who knows, it might be a woman's bullet that kills Hitler"
Oh, this is WW2 if you don't know
I mean, I am all for female characters because they are what I play as
but pandering to people who do not play games is a bad idea
The "British" squad they showed off was a wisecracking English women, a Scottish guy who looks like Kratos, a black guy, and a Norwegian man

Russia is the only nation which had a significant number of women fighting for them in WW2
And even then, it was only for a while, and still not that many
Germany had special squads of the elderly that would fight
There were more 80-90 year old Germans fielded than women in the entire war
Britain had female combat medics for sure
And trauma teams, etc.
Being issued a gun is not the same as being infantry
Those weren't military positions though
Anti-aircraft guns were mounted on pretty much every building
It was a civilian obligation
Women were not discriminated from having shifts on them though (I don't think it was limited in any way)
